I never thought I’d be happy to see pavement, but I am

So, the sun is shining, our plants are growing, and the ice and snow are melting.  And I am feeling delighted whenever I see pavement.  You see, since about November the roads, sidewalks, drive ways, and parking lots have been covered by an inch thick slab of ice and snow.  Making driving and walking both impossible and terrifying. But, we finally have pavement.

Frightening

Hey, there — I just stumbled upon your blog today when I was looking for news on the Iditarod. My family and I visited Alaska for the first time a couple of weeks ago — Anchorage and Girdwood, to be exact — and I think I’m in love with the place. I even loved the cold. How did you guys score jobs up there? I’m an attorney in Texas (I think we have reciprocity, so no dreaded Barbri and exam) working with oil and gas title, so with all the oil and gas up there, I wouldn’t think it would be too much of a stretch. Just curious about the job market and the experience of moving up there. Great blog! (Feel free to respond at the attached email if you don’t want to post it here. Thanks!) — Lindsay
